We were asked to design this winter residence by our clients, a family of three, to be located in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains in Tucson. Our scheme terraced the house into the side of the foothill, to make the structure integral with the hill, take advantage of the thermal mass of the earth and to exploit the views to Tucson below.
Andersson-Wise designed this winter residence in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains in Tucson for small family of three. Critical to its conception was the charge to envision the house as a collection of indoor/outdoor spaces.
