St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

Steamboat Springs, CO

St. Paul’s Episcopal church was originally established in the early 1900’s in Steamboat Springs, housed in a diminutive 100-seat one-story masonry building downtown. Andersson-Wise was selected to design an expansion to the worship space and classrooms.
The Vision

This new sanctuary space establishes a center for the church and Whiteman School campus. We worked to create an addition to the original stone chapel that would build onto and honor the history of the place.

“"There was such a incredible use of lighting. It was focused, channeled carefully, and used economically. Lighting makes the space look sacred with shadows; it constantly transforms the feeling of the space."”
