The material existence of the stone provides an environment for the worship that feels protected and timeless. The beauty of the space is defined by the character of the light.

A transparent entry defines a welcoming arrival for the congregants and defines an open social space outside the perimeter of the stone
synagogue. As one walks into the sanctuary, the stone walls rise to a canopy of plaster ceilings which recall a traditionally tented tabernacle.
The building's cubic volumes define several exterior courtyard spaces for gathering and contemplation.
Large moveable wooden wall panels allow the primary worship space to be opened up to accommodate greater capacity during the High Holidays.
